The Chateau Event Center | Bozeman, Montana | Dana and Gavin's Wedding

The elegant simplicity of this wedding at the Chateau Event Center blew me away!  The first time I met Gavin and Dana we talked of good whiskey, baking, the navy blue and citrus color theme for the wedding, and Game of Thrones while they baked a cherry pie as their engagement session activity.  They were laid back and quiet, except when talking about GOT, which was in its dramatic final season at the time and was worthy of a few strong excited opinions.   I could see the connection between them and knew they were spot on for each other. 

So, when it came time for their September wedding here in Bozeman, I was not surprised at the simple, sleek, but blow me away elegance of her stunning dress selected on a trip to visit her sister in Nashville.  I knew Dana was confident in the plan she had for the décor and was not surprised that her implementation that day was deceivingly simple and all about beauty. 

As beautiful as the result was, what thrilled me the most was what a sweet gathering of women in the Chateau’s bridal suite – and I mean a lot of women in and out.  Both mothers (his and hers), her sister, and an amazing collection of cousins, aunts, grandma’s and the like, all laughing and crying and being community for their bride-to-be! 

Dana was graced with the sweet attention of her sister helping her with her hair and makeup.  And the result was perfect for this family only gathering.  Everything done with exactly the right touch of simplicity and elegance - a bride fit for the cover of Vogue Magazing!

This time of laughter and preparations was amazing to watch, as the relationships were so beautiful.  It was my privilege to capture the connection between these women – every one of them smart, strong and beautiful in her own way, but all supporting each other and happy to be together.  They rolled up their sleeves and went to work helping each other and dealing with the needs as the popped up.  What more can a wedding photographer ask for?    

Over in the men’s side of things it was much the same – a gathering of brothers, fathers and grandfathers that bespoke love and respect for each other!

Their entire wedding day event was made up of family and the perfect collection of vendors who could allow the family to be themselves and celebrate in their own way!  And the best of Bozeman’s wedding vendors came together perfectly!  Flowers that matched Dana’s vision perfectly were arranged by Katalin Green. The meal prepared by Chef Liz and her team at Just a Taste was the perfect sustenance for the day, supplemented with desserts from Wild Crumb and Sweet Pea Bakery with a little extra help from Dana’s Aunt.  And all that delicious food was worked off with a night of dancing to the music provided by Kyle of Bozeman DJ.  Without question, the magnificent Chateau Event Center provided the perfect touch of classic European flair to the early fall Montana landscape.  Elegance all the way around!

From the Billy Balls on the table to outdoor ceremony to the fathers toasting their future to the amazing sunset session to the long hours of dancing for all, this wedding was a site to behold!  The value for family and connection permeated every bit of the day.  And all of it was a success thanks to the gracious nature and amazing talents of Dana and Gavin!  Thank you for the opportunity to capture your day!
